Preview of today’s page!

Hey guys!  I wanted to post to point out that I’ve made some updates to my convention schedule for this year.

First off, my next convention is Animarathon at Bowling Green State University at the end of this month.  If you’re in the NW Ohio area, this FREE anime convention is always a joy to attend!  Did I mention it’s free?

I’m also locked in to return to ConnectiCon and Matsuricon again this summer!  I may be returning to ColossalCon as well, but that’s still up in the air since their table prices increased by quite a bit this year.  Unfortunately, some things come right down to money, and I’m trying to be more frugal and responsible with my business this year, after the insane convention binge I went on in 2009!  ^_^;;

And that means voting has reset at TopWebComics! Please help support Garanos and vote!  The new vote incentive is a sketch I did last week.

In comic news, Volume II proper is now available at IndyPlanet.  If you’re interested, though, I implore you to consider a Volume II Misprint, which is not only cheaper, but signed and numbered, unlike what you’ll get from IP.  ^_^  My other comic, Alex’s Guide to a Life Well Lived, is also on IP as well!

I’m in the process of digging up sketch versions of the pages I’ll be offering for sale, and I hope to get them up in the store this week.  Man, I have not looked at these drawings in AGES.  I’m not surprised to find a new false-start sketches on the back of pages now and then, but I AM astounded at the number of them that I don’t ever remember drawing, much less what they were for.  I seem to have used a discarded page from this scene to draw the chapter cover for Part 5, and it is rather… creepy.  I’m glad it didn’t make it into the final cut, because I would still be having nightmares.

My buddy Pete over at Bardsworth is also taking t-shirt preorders!  You like cookies, right? You can have a COOKIE… on your SHIRT.  Did I just blow your mind?

Aaaaaaand of course, here we are at the start of the last chapter.  I want to give props to my friend Susan Bruno, who helped me edit this chapter.  I hope the wrap-up is satisfying, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. :D

I’ve been mulling over this idea for about a week or two.  If I were to offer original sketches of certain pages of the comic, would anyone be interested in buying them?  I’m thinking chapter covers and other various splash pages, but I’m open to offering actual laid-out comic pages as well, if there’s any interest.

I’ve got two jumbo binders full of the original sketches for every page of Garanos so far, and I know I’m probably not going to have much use for them once the comic is over.

The price point I had in mind was $25 per piece.  Does this sound fair?  What about an option to include a print of the final colored page?

All feedback on this idea would be appreciated. ^_^

Seriously, though, I think it’s obvious I had fun making these.  Seeing people buying kids’ valentines at Target got me pining for the days when you could give away little cards with corny phrases and Power Rangers on them and be all set.  Happy Valentine’s Day!
