This weekend, I’ll be in Marceline, MO for Toonfest! Marceline is Walt Disney’s hometown, and Toonfest is an annual event for cartoonists, Disney fans, and the like. I heard about it when I went to the Toon Awards last April! I have no idea what it’ll be like, but I’m likely to run into some of the cartoonists I met with at the Toon Awards, as well as many others, so I’m excited!
I have a space in the vendor’s area as well, and I’ll be there at my table all day Saturday to sell my wares. Maybe I’ll meet some of my Mississippi Valley readers there? Who knows! I’ll also be hanging out for Student Day on Friday.
Wish me luck! I’m pretty sure my autograph t-shirt will be nearly out of room by the time I get back! ^_^;;
New Vote Incentive: A panel of Geilen from Friday’s page!
This page uses stock from Photos8.
New vote incentive is up on TWC! It’s some practice sketches of a particular panel of Geilen from Friday’s page. I got what I was looking for on the lower right there. ^_^
Toonfest was awesome. Con report, of course, is forthcoming. ^_^
Unfortunately, I’ll have to skip tomorrow’s page! Ironically enough, I realized last night that I had not missed an update day since April, so I hope this time is forgivable. Read on for the long, drawn-out story.
My summer job this year has been working in my late grandparents’ house, getting it cleaned up and ready for the big estate sale, which is this weekend. My grandmother was a hoarder, so there is an astonishing amount of stuff. After coming home from Missouri, my family and I have been working in the house almost nonstop this week in order to get the house ready for the sale, and I simply have not had the time to keep up with Garanos!
I’m even more annoyed than you guys that this is in the middle of an important scene, not to mention a fight scene, so I hope you’ll accept my apologies and come back on Monday for your regularly scheduled update. ^_^ Have a good weekend!
Saturday, October 3th is 24 Hour Comic Day 2009! I will be doing a 24HC once again, and I’ll be screencasting and live video blogging for probably a large portion of it on my Livestream Channel. I’m going to set a tentative start time of 12 PM EDT.
Some might remember that I took a hiatus from September to December last year, since it was my last quarter of college, and my big project for my studio time class was completing four 24 Hour Comics, which you can check out here! I was totally drained of ideas after those four comics, but after another year I think I’m ready to tackle another short form comic!
I’ll post again later in the week to remind anyone who wishes to follow my progress. ^_^ The Webcomic Beacon is also having a 24 Hour Podcast with some awesome-sounding programming, so you should check them out, too!
Today’s page is around 80% done, and will be up later this evening. I’m finally going back to Columbus today, and apparently I’ve needed some time to deflate from the insane week I’ve had, so that’s why the page is going to be late. I promise it’s another good one, too! Have a partially-shaded panel:
