Here we are! The original drawings I did for Garanos. As I summarized in the About page of the website, I decided to start drawing Garanos after attending a panel by Dave Merrill at Ohayocon Five in Jaunary of 2005. It was essentially a panel on how to self-publish your own comics on a small budget. It had never occured to me how simple it could be, but I was so excited, I pored over my pink clipboard for two weeks and drew all of these pages, even taking them with me when I went to class and working on them during breaks. It was actually some of the most fun I've had drawing that I can recall.

For a minute or two, I thought I'd take the Megatokyo route and pencil-shade the whole comic. That didn't really last beyond this page, and a redrawn version of page 2 that you'll find on the next page.

As a nod to the practices I still keep when self-editing, I changed the second panel at the last minute in Photoshop. This is probably one of my most irritating habits, since I know there was an original, non-pencil version of this (and the next) page, but it was misplaced sometime in the last two and a half years. Decided I didn't like the 3/4 of Garanos in the rain, and it ended up reflecting the fact that Garanos is in profile in the very first panel. This page is recreated in a way in the first two panels of the corresponding page in color; Garanos is seen from behind, then from the front.
