When I decided to restart Garanos and do it in color, I also switched to the full-page format I'd begun using for Jigworthy, so each drawn page is a full 8.5" by 11" sheet of paper. They're much easer to store and keep track of than the half-pages I was using for the Originals. Essentially, I'd make a little booklet by folding a stack of copy paper down the middle, and draw away until I ran out. Then I'd use a pair of scissors to cut the drawn pages into seperate sheets, and start again with a new booklet. As you might be able to see, this resulted in many sloppy page edges. I keep the Originals in a loose stack, with a whole sheet of copy paper folded around it like a book jacket, and frankly, I'm amazed I haven't lost any of it. It's pretty damn unimpressive if you just see it sitting on top of my scanner, where it usually is. On the other hand, I keep the full-page sketches in a nice binder with plastic page protectors, which looks pretty nice when I lay it out on a table at conventions.
The things we learn when doing comics.
Notice again, my lack of foreshortening ability. And my lazyness when it came to doing the "cobbled" streets of Kaigan. I was really proud of these pages when I did them, and I certainly feel accomplished when I look back, but sometimes I still cringe.
