This first segment of story, which I just ended up calling the Prelude, was 15 pages in the Originals, but upon changing to full-page format for Volume One, it totalled only 10. Since it was so early on, I figured I could expect about the same proportion for the entire thing, and guesstimated that Volume One would run about 100 pages.

Silly me.

On another note, I'd given the "chapters" artsy sort of names before ever considering using text from Jeremy's poem. You'll see the others as we get to them.
