So long, Maryoku!

I actually recycled Maryoku's name from another story, one which I've been working on since junior high. The word itself is Japanese for "magical power" or "charm," according to the online dictionary I got it from. The character in the other story was a middle-aged female doctor named Jureino Maryoku, or "Magical Power of Long Life". Certainly applies across both characters.
