Maryoku was based on a girl who was taking the same writing class as I was, in which I wrote Volume One. I thought I'd include a death in my story, so I stood up in class and said something like, "Hey! Who wants to die in my short story?" So I made a character based very loosely on Jessica, mostly superficially. (Jessica had red hair.)

I never got to use it again, but I was really proud of the drawing of Maryoku on 88.
