The rape metaphor is a lot clearer here. It all ties in with my muddled teenage perceptions of love and sex. The reason it's less pronounced in Volume One is just because I thought it would be easier for the Harbinger to keep Garanos pinned on her stomach after tackling her, so the tone became more violent and agressive and (in my mind) less violating.
