I did rather enjoy the visual of Garanos pushing through that membranous thing up there.

This exact part, the Harbinger being expelled, was extremely vague in the written draft, and if I recall correctly, the sequence of events involved both Garanos and the Harbinger receding back into Garanos' subconscious to duke it out, instead of a physical fight like subsequent versions. The change was actually provoked by my Composition class; I was reading the written draft aloud to my classmates in installments, and I left a lot of people confused as to what exactly happened. It made sense in my mind, but I didn't translate it very well to prose. It's the kind of thing that would actually have worked well in comic form, but for simplicity's sake, I kept the final showdown a physical fight with a corporeal Harbinger.
