o.O i hope not. i dont think Garanos would kill Ethreden. And if she did (for some reason) i dont think he would emit an evil sounding “SKREEEEEEEE!!” i just hope Ethreden is only mal nourished, and sickly. Cause with enough time and care he could be able to be back to his old self again!!!
whew! for a second i thought “oh lord, she just nailed Ethreden! well, that would certainly be an ironic twist!”
glad this appears to not be the case o_o;;
i like the spattering effects of the two powers colliding.
You can also just make a bit of infection on the sucker’s neck. That coupled with the “skreee” and that odds of her actually spiking Ethreden (now that would be an interesting plot twist!) tells me it is just a zombie.
And for our baddie I refer her to several of the Evil Overlord tips:
20. Despite its proven stress-relieving effect, I will not indulge in maniacal laughter. When so occupied, it’s too easy to miss unexpected developments that a more attentive individual could adjust to accordingly.
39. If I absolutely must ride into battle, I will certainly not ride at the forefront of my Legions of Terror, nor will I seek out my opposite number among his army.
114. I will never accept a challenge from the hero.
115. I will not engage an enemy single-handedly unless all my soldiers are dead.
Going toe-to-toe with the main character? She’s gonna die!
And I repeat what I wrote on the last page:
Off topic tangent:
Back on page 431 Geilen jumps head-first at our baddie while holding her knives behind her. Daniel voices the opinion that this is foolish, a view that I rather agree with. However, Azure, Slamlander, and Tyranna disagree and say this is correct in a number of ways. As someone interested in martial arts and always looking for new styles, techniques, and other things I don’t know, could anyone give me some information concerning this tactic? Specific as possible please. I’ve trained in two styles of Tae Kwon Do and seen several others and things aren’t always the same even though they all have the same name.
Bob, the main example would be bojitzu and Ninjitzu, for the reverse grip. There is also a school of Kung Fu that teaches it. In fact, it is a key part of Ninjitzu style.
The grip I’ve seen, it’s more the jumping head-first that I’m curious about. *Wanders off to YouTube and Google to look up bojitzu, Ninjitzu, and Kung Fu*
Dang, my searches are coming to naught and I need to get ready for class. Most of my Google searches are coming up with video games, and YouTube gives me mostly Parkour “ninjas” (If you don’t know what Parkour is, look it up. I started doing it this year and it’s fun… though my aching thighs don’t agree with me right now.) and various knife fighting without jumping.
To clarify here, since I don’t think I was all that clear in my above posts: I do not have any problem with the way she is jumping and holding out her knives. I would probably do much the same were I to jump. What I do have a problem with is that she is jumping at an opponent while doing so. I was taught to attack at the same time as you jump, so the opponent has to deal with an attack. However Geilen is doing no such thing, nor is she guarding in any way, leaving her badly exposed to my mind. I guess what I’m saying is that I don’t have a problem with the technique, but how it is being used.
So is Ethreden toast?

I like the lighting on the last panel. Was that a nameless zombie she just hit with the scabbard?
That was a nameless zombie that got scewered with Garano’s sheath. Evidence is the “Skreeeee”.
Stop lightning with a sword made of metal? It MUST be enchanted somehow. (The mind boggles)

I don’t think she’s stopping it with the sword. Just channeling her powers through it.

I would like to submit the center panel as evidence for my ‘Gharsena is freaking insane’ theory.
