Not entirely sure what just happened. Looks to me like our hero got knocked on his can, possibly from the Red Moth’s effects (in which case he may be being protected through a little tough love).
It occurs to me that a good portion of enjoying this comic comes from confusion over what happened and the ensuing argument. :D
ahh!! no! i just read the entire thing in a day, and i was thinking that i had more left but when there was no next button i couldn’t believe it. i would start when there would be a cliffhanger. lol
Le gasp! That’s pretty bold for the guy who I’ve always felt like just follows Gara around like a lost puppy dog. :)

You might be on to something there Tyranna. I didn’t pay attention to it until you said that, but the roll is in the direction he was jumping, not away as it would be if he was thrown back like I thought.
Emerald, Zegma, I’m also in the same boat. I cannot stress how FANTASTIC this comic is, even though it’s short, the art and the story are absolutely amazing. It’s a shame we just went through 453 strips of art which probably took the decent part of a day at the very least in as much as it takes to draw one strip…
Bob, Tyranna, perhaps you could both be right if he was knocked out from the leap and got knocked out from the power of it all; but he’s hugging his knees. To me that shows preparation. Rolling under the flames to get closer to our Heroine perhaps?
First thing that went into my head when it showed our protagonist’s third-wheel finally taking some initiative, was why our artist/writer would show us this unless he had some importance?
But what can he do? I remember a few hours back I read a strip… Either I’m too blinded by my love of catalytic jewelery, or does our scorched hotdog have a plausibly powerful amulet on his body?
And if so, WHY DIDN’T HE GIVE IT TO GARANOS ON THE SHIP!!! xD I was waiting for that scene sooo bad…
Looking at the second panel, “scorched hotdog” may indeed be the operative phrase. ;)
He is doing a drop-tuck-and-roll to put out the flames on his own nether regions..

I think he just jumped over the flames then rolled on the ground, perhaps to dodge something?
