These were the bandits working for Gharsena, right? the ones who captured Ethreden? They aren’t beholden to anyone, so now they can move on to their next job. Looks like the one speaking (i forget his name) saw this coming a mile away!
This might just be my wild imagination but could it be that Gharsena planned for this and that she didn’t “die” and just moves on to return in another shape.
@Bob & Sabeur
At least to me (and to Maeverin), the bandit leader looks VERY PLEASED by the results, as in “all going according to plan” kind of way.
Apparently, even though he was hired by Gharsena and not the other way around, he’s got his own agenda.
The bandits do seem way too resourceful to be just foot soldiers for Gharsena. maybe it’s the other way around and this bandit leader is the next big bad of the series.
@Bob, I think Harbinger is saying something deeper: i.e. that, even for cold heartless mercs, the guy appears a little too cheerful (as in he expected this result and his plans relied on this happening).
At a guess, when the bandits/mercs signed on with Gharsena they did not know what she was or planned. Even the lowest scum (which these guys are not) have standards. By the time they found out they could no longer leave without dying in some hugely unpleasant and terrifying fashion.
Now that Gharsena is no langer a factor their principle concern is getting away before an angry mob forms.
Now who the hell are these guys?!?!

Aw, he looks so broken up over his bosses death. Note to self: If I hire this guy, I will not count on his undying loyalty.
Ooops… Should have been boss’s, not bosses.
Looks like a good time for a dance sequence and song perhaps Michael Jackson’s Thriller (they have the zombies wondering about)?
Aaaaand their paycheck just exploded. Sucks to be them.

Love it that the story is advancing :P
I was being sarcastic… Just doesn’t come across well in type I guess. :D
I get the strange feeling that these guys are connected to the events happening with Garanos’ sister….might just be me though….
@Bob, I understood you.

I see, though my first impression was just “Oh well, kinda expected she’d get herself killed sometime, time to find another employer.”
Boosh!
Thanks for the caricature sketches at ohayocon! May your fanbase spread so that many people at cons will recognize your webcomic!
That may be difficult. If you look up at some of the above posts, some of her fans can’t even identify minor characters. :D (No offense guys.)
