    i…don’t understand this. i think it might be worded weird.

    It’s worded the way someone would say it in casual conversation.

    An English major writing a thesis would write something along the lines of ….

    “That still means, I only chose him because my fiance is dying, not because I love him, not for his own merits, not because he loves me and has been good to me. Just because I have no one else.”

    Gara thinks too much. That component can never, ever, be ruled out for anyone. It’s always there. Most people stay happy by ignoring it.

    You makes your choices and then live with the results, if you can. Guilt-tripping over honest feeling is called neurosis.
