AnimePunch is a convention here in Central Ohio that I’ve been staffing for the past couple years. (Artist Alley and Con Operations, for the curious.)
If you have never been to AP, then you, good sir, have not lived. AP is a college-aged convention, meaning that there is a huge percentage of educational, lecture-style panels about anime and anime fandom. Otaku of all ages are welcome, but we do not dumb things down. We party, we watch anime, we analyze, we debate, we use big words, and we kick ass.
If you think you’re up to the challenge, then Preregistration is going on until March 27th, and it’s only 25 bucks! (We are also a notoriously affordable con.)
ROW ROW!
Today is my birthday! I’m 23 today. (I share my birthday with Neil Sedaka and William H. Macy!) I’m not entirely sure what I’ll be doing tonight, but I will be seeing some friends, and then my mom and sister are coming to dote on me tomorrow. ^_^
Some convention things to mention!
Penguicon
I’m 99% sure I’m going to Penguicon! I’ve been talking to their very awesome webcomic programming head, and I’ll probably be serving up a Photoshop panel, and join in on some of the other webcomic programming. (Anyone want to split a hotel room?) I almost went last year, so I’m really excited to get up there this time around.
ConnectiCon
TOMORROW is the last day you’ll be able to pre-register for $35! On Sunday, the price goes up ten dollars, so if you haven’t registered for CTCon yet, do so as soon as possible. I promise, as a general attendee of Connecticon for the past two years, it is well worth it.
AnimePunch!
Time to plug my home convention again. AnimePunch is here in Columbus, and is notable for being an anime-only, college-aged convention with hours upon hours of academic programming, as well as epically awesome events. For instance, there will be Legends of the Hidden-fricking-Temple.
Preregistration is only $25, but it closes on March 27th! Can’t beat that price with a stick.
Hey guys, I’m finally home from AnimePunch and the massive party that happened thereafter. I have nothing of today’s chapter page done yet. I will try to get some of it done today, but I make no promises, as I am completely and utterly drained from the weekend. It will probably get done tomorrow, but regardless, I plan to get the first actual comic page of Part 14 out on time on Wednesday.
My book order arrived on Friday, so I’ll get the Vol. I Artist’s Editions out in the mail within the week. THEY ARE SO PRETTY. :D
I am now going to go pass out for about a zillion hours.
My AnimePunch report is over at my blog! You should also keep an eye on my blog in the coming week as I post the badge art I did for AP this year. ^_^ One of them is up on TopWebComics as the new voting incentive! If you’re a Gurren Lagaan fan, I think you’ll like it.
My next stop on this six-week convention binge is SPACE here in Columbus this weekend. I will have Garanos books, so if you happen to be around, please come say hello!
