I’ve got two jumbo binders full of the original sketches for every page of Garanos so far, and I know I’m probably not going to have much use for them once the comic is over.

The price point I had in mind was $25 per piece.  Does this sound fair?  What about an option to include a print of the final colored page?

Thanks to Zen Cart, I no longer have to deal with unwieldy PayPal buttons for each and every product I want to sell online!  Go check it out, there’s a ton of stuff (Garanos and otherwise) that’s on clearance, so you can get swag for super cheap!

This is a brand new venture for me, since I’ve never used this software before, so there might be some kinks to work out while we’re getting started!  Everything should run pretty smoothly, though. ^_^

There’s a new vote incentive up on TopWebComics for today!  It’s a close up panel from today’s page.

This week will wrap up Part 17 with page 468.  I will then be taking a 2-week break to edit and start drawing the final chapter, and then Garanos will resume on March 1st.

I’m even premiering something new there:  BOOKMARKS!

These are fully laminated, and about 1.5″ x 5″.  (3.8 x 12.7 cm.)  It’s just these five designs for now, but I may add more if they sell well!  They will cost $1 each, or free if you buy a copy of Garanos Volume I or II!  (If I have leftovers, they will be in the store sometime after the convention.)

And next week, I’ll be spending the entire week at the ISCA Caricaturing Convention in Sandusky!  I’m really looking forward to that, you have no idea.  ^_^  I expect to see some big famous cartoonists I know again!

It doesn’t really affect the narrative, as only one line of dialogue is omitted from the page, but as it stands, I have a whole stack of books misprinted in this fashion that I’d like to get rid of. So if you’re interested in owning one of these misprinted copies, today’s your lucky day!

These books are signed and numbered in two runs; some of the original run of 15 books, and the second run of 5 books. There are 14 books available, which I will distribute randomly. These are NOT Artist Editions, and thus will not have drawings in them– since I want to get rid of them, they are a bit cheaper than Artist Editions, plus it keeps the Artist Editions special for those people who chose to take a misprinted book instead of waiting for a corrected copy.

The version that will be on IndyPlanet is indeed the corrected (re-shaded) version, so if you order from them in the future, you wont get a misprint. ^_^ Now, without further ado, the order form.

If you didn’t see the post from the other day, the store has been set up again! All the coasters, keychains, buttons, and prints are back in their full glory.  ^_^ For every order, I will include a free mini-sketch on an index card!

I’m not using Etsy this time because the fees were a bit bothersome.  I’ve also got all the Garanos products mirrored on my website’s new store; there’s a slew of anime-themed buttons that were previously only available from me at conventions, as well as my famous Sharpie Art.

Finances are incredibly tight for me this month, so anything you could send my way is very appreciated.  Most pressingly, I have a routine doctor’s appointment coming up which I’ll need to cough up for.  (I’m one of those lucky Americans with no health insurance that everyone’s talking abou these dayst.)

Finances are a little tight for me at the moment, and since I don’t have another convention for several weeks, I thought I ought to reinstate the store through PayPal instead of Etsy.  Etsy was nice for the features, but this way I don’t have to give them a cut of my sales or pay them fees!

By buying Volume I from this page, you are piggybacking a copy on the order of books I am placing, which is my stock for conventions. The price in the dropdown menu is the total cost of the book PLUS USPS Priority Shipping. When I receive the books, I will personalize them with an inscription and a drawing of the character you specify above, then take them to the Post Office to be mailed to you!

What if I want more than one?

Despite not having a table at Ohayocon, I decided to go down on Saturday to visit with all my friends who would be there, and to browse the Artist Alley for webcomics people to show Garanos to.  (I took my one remaining copy of the book with me!)  I knew that Dave of Paradox Lost would be there, but to my pleasant surprise, I found out Applegeeks was there as well.  So they were both supremely awesome to talk to, and I appreciated that they took the time to check out my art despite having lots of other visitors to tend to.

And Hawk’s lovely ladyfriend (whose name escapes me, m’bad) gave me a really good tip for if I ever need to start flying to conventions instead of driving.  If you are a student and/or under 26 years old, you can get discounted airfares through STA Travel.  So students and twentysomethings– bookmark this site and get cheap flights when you need to travel!

Today I also called in to the live broadcast of Webcomic Beacon!  I was catching up on Twitter and it was 3:15 and saw their post about needing callers starting at 3:00, so I scrambled to join in!  I hopefuly didn’t nervously stammer too much.  The MP3 will probably be online in the next few days, so keep an eye on that and you can hear me discuss the names and name meanings of some of my characters!

I got some new artwork done this week!  Check it out.

In an attempt to get some fresh artwork up on the art page, I’m doing full-body portraits of all the major characters.  Maryoku and the boys will be next.  ^_^ I’ve actually thrown these two on some t-shirts in the Spreadshirt shop, so check ‘em out there.

The Graphic Novel

I’m going to start the process of getting the graphic novel ready to be reprinted and sold at IndyPlanet, and one of the things I want to do is redesign the cover.  The cover for the Lulu edition is a little boring, so I’m open to suggestions on what I should put on the new one, because I haven’t been excited about any of my ideas.  Post your suggestions in the comments or shoot me an email.

Ohayocon

I will not be exhibiting at Ohayocon this weekend as I was not accepted into their Artist Alley, which was juried this year.  So if anyone was looking forward to saying hi this year, it was unfortunately beyond my control, and I hope to see you next year instead.  I will probably be stopping in sometime on Saturday to say hello to Paradigm Shift and any other webcomics I come across in the AA, and to my other friends who will be there hanging out, so you can always go to the AnimePunch table to talk to the rad dudes there.  From what I know, there will be a breakdancing demo in the vicinity of the AP table at some point, which is usually on the second floor by the escalators overlooking the food court.
