My AnimePunch report is over at my blog!  You should also keep an eye on my blog in the coming week as I post the badge art I did for AP this year.  ^_^ One of them is up on TopWebComics as the new voting incentive!  If you’re a Gurren Lagaan fan, I think you’ll like it.

The new voting incentive on TWC is the Exorcist badge art from AP!

I’m currently in Okoboji, Iowa, and getting ready to attend the Toon Award Exhibition! XD  The drive was long and arduous, but we finally made it after 13 hours.  HOLY CRAP does Iowa have a lot of fields.  I thought Ohio had a lot of cornfields… I knew nothing of fields. Iowa also has a lot of bikers.

Heh.  Anyways, the reception is tonight from 5 to 7, and a bunch of professionals are going to be there, including Chris Browne, the current author of Hagar the Horrible, who is also one of the Toon Award judges.  Wish me luck!

Iowa Report is Up!

The greatest weekend ever.  My Toon Award Show blog entry is up!  Little Al is moving up in the world!  ^_~

The new voting incentive on TopWebComics is the Glorious Space Epic AP badge art.  Every vote helps me get new readers, and remember you can vote every day, not just on update days.  Thanks for your support!

After getting nagged about it just enough times, I’ve got the link to Garanos on IndyPlanet up on the store page!  Anyone who didn’t get an Artist’s Edition can still get good old vanilla-flavored Volume I there.  ^_^

This weekend I’ll be at Penguicon in Romulus, Michigan!  I’ve been really looking forward to going, and I expect to have an awesome time.  I’ll be on a few panels while I’m there:

  • ComicPress (Saturday, 10 AM)
  • Self-Publishing – How to Not Get Totally Screwed (Saturday, 12 PM) -  Wil Wheaton is going to be on this panel, too!  I will try not to get any fangirl on him.
  • Coloring With Photoshop (Sunday, 9 AM)  – My first Photoshop panel!  I will be demonstrating my methods on Starfleet!Garanos.  Rumor has it I will be able to play with a Cintiq, as well!
  • Webcomic Brunch (Sunday, 10:30 AM)
  • Webcomics: It Takes a Village (Or Does It?) (Sunday, 2 PM)

I will also have an Artist Alley table starting on Saturday, so if you’re coming to the con, do come say hello!

Vote Incentive: Geilen as an Orion Slave Girl

Last month, I learned that completely disrupting my continuity was all I needed to do to get attention.  I also learned that fanservicey voting incentives get me a shit-ton of votes! :D

In that spirit, to start off strong in the month of May, today’s voting incentive is Geilen as an Orion Slave Girl.  Something quick and dirty (hurr hurr) I whipped up earlier this week especially for this.

Today kicks off the first day of Penguicon! I’ve also added two more possible conventions to my schedule for this year:  Toonfest in Marceline, Missouri, which is a one-day event in Walt Disney’s childhood home; and the National Caricature Network’s annual convention, which is surprisingly close, just up in Sandusky, Ohio.  I found out a lot about both of these cons from the cartoonists at the Toon Award last weekend, so I hope I can make it to them to do more networking.  ^_^

Vote Incentive: Knight Saber

There is a new vote incentive at TopWebComics!  This is the Knight Saber badge art from AnimePunch.

Today’s page will be up this afternoon.  I ended up deciding to scrap the original page 358, and completely redrew it.  I also had quite a bit of housekeeping that I needed to catch up on yesterday, which carried over into my usual Garanos work time.  I apologize for the delay!
