Alrighty, this here is the last of the art I did for AnimePunch. It’s up on TWC now as the voting incentive. Hopefully nobody’s been too bored by all the lineart and cel shading. ^_~
PHEW. Okay. Now that ColossalCon is over, this convention binge is officially OVER! That’s 9 cons in 11 weeks! Yowza.
My con report for ColossalCon is now up! It was an awesome con, and definitely a good note to end on!
My next convention isn’t until ConnectiCon, which is just under two months away. The break will be nice, but at the same time, I can’t wait! I’m looking forward to it so much. I plan for it to rock hard this year in a big way.
Just as a reminder, Volume II pre-orders are still open, but if you can’t get a copy right now, then just wait for Connecticon! I will be debuting Volume II in person there! That is, if my planning and timing works out with Ka-Blam printing it. Cross your fingers, everyone!
Now speaking of ConnectiCon, there is a new voting incentive on TopWebComics! It’s a peek at what I’m working on for ConnectiCon’s program cover art contest. Garanos needs more votes! We started off strong at the beginning of last month, but I’m a bit lower in the ranking here at the beginning of this month. (I blame the short vacation from updating, which is my own fault anyway.)
Last but not least, some art! This is the Volume II cover art and the picture of Garanos that I colored at my Photoshop panel at ColossalCon.
(If you follow my art blog, you will have already seen these! ^_^)
The chapter cover for Part 15 is now up! The regular pages resume on Monday. ^_^ There’s an in-progress shot of one of the panels of the next update, so click here to vote on TWC and see it!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Hey folks! Long story short, I’m on the go as I post this update, and to my dismay it seems that Save For Web in Photoshop is too big to display the whole dialog window on my little laptop screen. (I have a netbook.) So today’s page, 371, which was colored on the laptop, had to be compressed with Photoshop’s default JPEG compression, and thus it looks really artifact-y.
SO. For the vote incentive today, you can see the page in crystal clear PNG-O-Vision without the bad compression!
I’ll recompress it again when I get to a bigger monitor and replace the file that’s up now, but that wont be till this weekend. ^_^
Remember that Artist Editions for Volume II are also open through this Friday! And thank you very much to everyone who has already placed their orders. ^_^
WELL. It seems that just like two years ago, Garanos’ third anniversary slipped by me unnoticed! Garanos turned 3 years old on June 13th. I’ll just have to have a big fanfare for the upcoming page 400 to make up for it!
But to celebrate, and kick off the new voting month at TopWebComics, the new voting incentive is a coupon code for one free Garanos wallpaper at Webcomic Wallpapers!
Happy Birthday, Gara! ^_^
One more thing: If you’re going to ConnectiCon (HELL YEAH) then this Saturday, july 4th, is the last day you can pre-register for $45! After that it goes up to $55, and at the door it’s $60. So if you haven’t pre-registered, then save some money and do so this weekend!
There’s a new voting incentive up at TopWebComics: a preview panel from Monday’s update! You know what to do. ^_^
A new video blog! Wherein I show off my stuff for ConnectiCon.
There’s also a new incentive up at TopWebComics: a panel from page 382 without the color adjustments. I clipped it out so I could use it as reference for the forest color pallette.
First off, if you ordered an Artist Edition of Volume II, please check the email address associated with your PayPal Account. Thanks!
That wraps it up for Part 15. Oh, the suspense!
This means that there are only three more chapters of Garanos left, ever! Keep your seat belts on, kids, because we’re going to be moving at a steady clip from here on out. That’s right, I will NOT be taking a break between chapters this time! And in fact, I’m going to make it my goal not to miss a single update until the story is over!
Let’s take this on like warriors!
There’s a new voting incentive up at TWC. It’s a collection of the warm-up sketches I did to prepare for the first scene of this chapter. There’s a lot of them, since I drew this chapter in several long sessions. ^_^ Enjoy!
Only 11 days until ConnectiCon! Remember, Artist Colony table #32. ^_~
Today’s vote incentive on TWC is the image behind the chapter cover for Part 16. The cover was based on a painting titled “The Flirt’s Periscope” by Rolf Armstrong for Puck Magazine Vol. 79, Issue 2037, dated March 18, 1916. This image (like a lot of Puck artwork) is in the public domain.
I handled and scanned this image when I still worked at the OSU Cartoon Research Library. ^_^ The version available online can be seen here.
New vote incentive is up! Another quick sketch that goes with the first scene of P15. ^_^
